Aasish has successfully provided advisory and/or litigious representation on:

• resolving unfair dismissal and general protection matters
• Comcare claims, representing both Comcare, self-insured licensees (such as the ACT Government/EML) and Applicants
• clarifying intricate superannuation scenarios, particularly within the CSS, PSS, and PSSap schemes
• the application of the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and entitlements arising under that Act
• Work Health and Safety matters including responding to regulators following notifiable incidents
• maternity leave entitlements both within, and outside of Commonwealth and State Governments
• a wide variety of common law claims
• workplace investigations including appeals to the Merit Protection Commissioner, and the Federal Court challenging, and defending findings of a workplace investigation
• addressing challenges and interpretation within enterprise agreements, awards, and with statutory office holders; and
• managing workplace discrimination matters.

Adiem’s specialist capability is built on Aasish’s exposure in the industry, including:

• statutory interpretation across a diverse range of legislation, specialising in complex administrative law and employment principles
• drafting instructions for legislation and legislative instruments
• advising Commonwealth decision-makers on administrative matters; and
• managing and assisting in untangling complex, sensitive litigation and dispute resolution processes across the High Court, Federal and State Courts, and Tribunals.

Aasish’s litigation experience also includes guiding clients as the solicitor on record for diverse and complex workplace, work health and safety matters, and administrative law principles, successfully representing clients in State, Territory, Federal Courts, and Tribunals. Additionally, Aasish regularly acts as a solicitor-advocate in various Courts and Tribunals.

Aasish works with a team of dedicated, and experienced senior practitioners in employment, and administrative law that support him.

Aasish is also currently a Board Member of the ACT Board of the Medical Board of Australia (ACT Board) exercising delegated powers as a decision maker in relation to the National Health Law as in force in each State and Territory.

Aasish is also a Committee Member of the Professional Standards Committee of the ACT Law Society.
